Gary can bring these skills to your company as an employee or on a contract basis. He has also arranged many of the technical and business skills into 2-hour classroom and textbook courses and can train your staff to improve their knowledge and your productivity.

You can choose an entire subject and learn it A to Z, or else you can "mix and match" by selecting specific classes from different course subjects to fit the needs of your employees.

The Basics - Three 2-hr sessions:
(1) Basic cell entry rules, changing fonts, colors, borders, column widths and row heights, and other cell formatting features.
(2) Copy/Paste and Cut/Paste and Paste Special, Edit/Fill, Sorting lists, spell checker
(3) Printing options (headers/footers, alignment issues, repeating rows, etc.), linking multiple spreadsheets

Math Functions and Charts - Three 2-hr sessions:

MICROSOFT WORD

Basic Document Skills - Three 2-hr sessions:
(1) Simple document formatting and printing options, including changing fonts, paragraph margins and line spacing
(2) Adding hanging indents, bullets, and tabs.
(3) Adding clipart, drop caps, headers and footers,and some tricks using Find and Replace.
Students will create and Edit a wide variety of documents, and are encouraged to bring their own problem files to class for group discussion.

MS Word Publishing Skills - Three 2-hr sessions that focus on creating flyers, newsletters, and reports.:
(1) Using tables, multi-column documents, inserted clipart, Word Art, and drawing objects.
(2) Document Style sheets will be created for easy consistency throughout a document.
(3) Sorting lists, table math, and tricks with tabs, indexes, and tables of contents.

MS Word: Advanced Features - Three 2-hr sessions:
(1) Simple Mail Merge, Name Tags, and Business Cards
(2) Merging from outside lists, creating document "fill-in-the-blank" templates
(3) Keyboard function key shortcuts, macros, and the Normal.dot file
Students will combine all the basic and intermediate elements to create and print a multi-page newsletter and address it to a mail list.

CREATE WEB PAGES USING HTML

Web Page Basics - One 3-hr session:
Create a simple page using simple HTML commands. Learn to do it the right way - not through funky Front Page. Real men use HTML! Learn some tricks and traps to good page design including font selection, background colors, and bullet points.
Students will design a page including simple GIF and JPG images.

Tables and Frames - - One 3-hr session:
Build from simple HTML code to include Tables and Frames in your Web Pages. Learn how to nest tables-inside-tables and frames-in-frames for some truly spectacular effects. You will also learn to incorporate buttons into your site to link several pages with the same "look and feel." This class is the core of the whole series!

Maps, Forms and eCommerce - - One 3-hr session:
Learn the secrets to Web Page forms, the doorway to electronic Commerce. Building on the previous two classes, this course includeds Graphic Design tricks including the Map command, animated GIFS, and Dynamic HTML commands. Linking your products to EBay, and Amazon, and other "shpping cart" sites is demonstrated. Students will design a page and share it with the class. (Note: This class does not go into Java Script or CGI, as those topics are in a separate 8+ hour class.)

CREATE SPECTACULAR WEB
PAGES USING SIMPLE HTML

MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

Creating a Good Basic Presentation - One four hour session:
(Part 1 - one hour) Students will learn the elements of a good/poor presentation, and how to use a slide show as only a part of your presentation, not the whole message. Also covered: when to include overheads and handouts, use of a white board, the basics of how to make a topic interesting. This class is mostly lecture with class participation and handouts. With it, student will know how to avoid "Death by PowerPoint" presentations!

(Part 2 - 3 hours) The basics of PowerPoint including screen formatting and various printing options. Students will create a simple slide shows using different layout templates, backgrounds, and style elements.

PowerPoint - Intermediate Design Skills - Two 2-hr sessions:
(1) This class covers use of Clipart (vector vs bitmap), WordArt, Shape Tools, Grouping and ungrouping objects
(2) This class covers and transitional effects both between slides and also within individual slides.

Powerpoint - Advanced Presentation Skills - One 2-hr session:
This course covers animating objects, OLE links to video and other media, and sound effects. Students will build a 10-slide presentation containing all the elements learned in all the classes!
